Twickenham semi- final venue.
Should Twickenham with its 82,000 capacity be considered. I think if it's possible then it should. Yes I know people get a day out at Wembley with semis being played there. But it really should only be for the Final, imho.

Rugby pitches are not what they used to be. 82,000 ticks another box,but I'm not sure if the semis would conflict with England ruggers international.

Maybe rugby authorities wouldn't want football's big fannies, diving around in their sacred ground.

'Dunno why we let rugby get played at the OS'

Possibly something to do with the fact it's not our ground and we have fuck all say in it.

Dunno why we let rugby get played at the OS, should of told the RFU to go fuck themselves and play every fixture of the World Cup at their 'rugby only' Twickenham. Shit pompous sport, just look at the attendances for domestic games, you can normally see cars driving past and people walking dogs in the background. The fans only come out for the internationals.

Hillsborough maybe but Villa park is quite big isn't it?

Buster, that was in a time before 10 year club seats ever existed.

The current Wembley club seat tickets expire next year. The the semi finals are a crucial part of the club offering. Taking them away will seriously diminish the marketability of the seats which make the stadium financially viable.

You'd argue if you were told the sun was hot, croe son.

Why?They are small grounds

Surely IF the games were to be played elsewhere they would be at OT and the Emirates.

Villa park, and Hillsborough semis for me

Well we shall see I guess but I bet when there's no impact on friendlies from other games, they will all be at Wembley, as will the semi-finals.

They already confirmed that now they've refinanced their debt, England friendlies will be played around the country.

They played semis at Wembley back in the 90s but changed it again, no reason they won't do the same again in the future.

I think you'll find they have moved these games as the Turkey game is the day after the FA Cup final and the Australia game is the night before the 3 play off final games over the bank holiday weekend.

Lords only holds 30,000
How about centre court at Wimbledon?
Or Catford Dog Track?

Re: Twickenham semi- final venue.
They're moving England games now they've made their money back, so no reason they won't do the same with the semis.

People are kidding themselves if they think the semi-finals are ever going to change away from Wembley.

It's the FA's competition and stadium

'only Everton will have to travel'

Hopefully!

Re: Twickenham semi- final venue.
Agreed gank - the venues should be decided once it's known who the semi finalists are. Though it's funny this year as only Everton will have to travel, the cunts. Same with the champions league - they should have 3 potential final venues each year and decide when they know who's playing. It's ridiculous that a team can play a final in their home turf!

As for the whole semi at Wembley thing, it'll keep happening until they e made enough money back

Re: Twickenham semi- final venue.
Villa Park and Old Trafford. Hopefully they'll do away with this nonsense before too long, no semi should be played at Wembley.

Someone mentioned Lords as well, but where would you put the goals on a circular pitch? Plus I don't think you could fit 22 players on that little brown pitch in the middle

Why on Earth does it have to be in London?

Although the English FA Cup should be in England so you can fuck the Millennium Stadium off too.

The biggest stadium roughly equidistant between the two teams taking part is the best and only logical solution.

Fuck off
I refuse to buy a pair of red corduroy trousers and a cravat to go to a football match.

Like most I presume I miss the old days when Wembley for the final was something special and the semi finals were at the old traditional venues .... Villa Park, Hillsborough & even Old Trafford.
At least this year the semi finals will be for fans of Watford, Palace, Everton & West Ham. All clubs for which a Wembley trip is a big deal unlike fans of Chelsea, Man U & Arsenal who seem to regard it as a burden.

Marston Hammer 8:48 Mon Mar 14

Might as well have suggested Lords or the Oval

Pathetic idea. But I'm sure you already know that.
